Personal Assistant

Mrs Chris Frederick
Mrs Chris Frederick is Personal Assistant to Miss Lees and she will normally be your first point of contact. She deals with all telephone calls, post and emails. Chris has managed the practice since 1999 and was previously a medical secretary in the NHS for 14 years, both in plastic surgery and other specialties. Her further experience extends to working for a national charity and activities at Board level in the retail and engineering industries. |

Mr Ash Pawade FRCS
Mr Ash Pawade is retired Consultant Paediatric Cardiac surgeon who formerly worked at Bristol Children’s Hospital and was responsible for turning around the children’s heart unit in the wake of the Bristol Heart Scandal. He runs two charities including Hands for Life dedicated to providing hand surgery to a rural Indian community. He enjoys wildlife photography. He assists in managing the practice and acts as a point of contact for patients out of hours. |
Anaesthetists

Dr Selwyn Roberts MA BM BCh DA FRCA
Dr Selwyn Roberts, Consultant Anaesthetist and honorary lecturer at Manchester University, studied at Cambridge and Oxford Universities and qualified in 1982. He trained in anaesthesia in Chester and Manchester. A consultant at Wythenshawe, the Christie and the Alexandra Hospitals, he has 15 years experience as a specialist in anaesthesia for Plastic Surgery. His major interests include anaesthesia for cosmetic surgery, upper limb surgery using regional anaesthesia and microsurgery.
Dr Roberts is a member of the Association of Burns and Reconstructive Anaesthetists and of the European Society for Regional Anaesthesia. He is also Director of Clinical risk and Patient Safety Advisor to South Manchester University Hospitals Trust |

Dr Douglas Greig BSc MB ChB DA FRCA
Dr Douglas Greig, Consultant Anaesthetist, qualified in 1987 after studying at St. Andrews and Manchester Universities. He trained in anaesthesia in Manchester; his training in paediatric anaesthesia was primarily at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospitals. He has 9 years experience as a Consultant at Wythenshawe and the Alexandra Hospitals where his major interests include paediatric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, anaesthesia for burns and plastic surgery and anaesthesia for ear, nose and throat surgery. Dr Greig is a member of the Association of Burns and Reconstructive Anaesthetists. He is the Royal College of Anaesthetists’ Tutor at Wythenshawe Hospital. |

Dr Indeewar Kapila MB ChB FRCA
Dr Indeewar Kapila is Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine. He studied medicine at the University of Glasgow, Scotland and qualified in 1990. After initial training in the major teaching hospitals in Glasgow he decided to specialise in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in Leicester and Manchester. He was appointed to the post of consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine in Manchester in 2000. His major interests include intensive care medicine, anaesthesia for plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery, orthopaedic surgery and the application of regional anaesthesia to the above specialities. He has NHS commitments to South Manchester University Hospital NHS trust and Christie Hospital NHS Trust. He also works at the Alexandra and BUPA hospitals in Manchester |

Mrs Fiona Peck
Fiona Peck is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the British Association of Hand Therapists and is registered with the Health Professions Council. She is employed as a clinical specialist hand therapist at Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester and has 25 years of experience in the field of burns and plastic surgery, hand trauma and disease. Her private hand therapy practice is based at Fernleigh Consulting Centre in Wilmslow where she is pleased to offer a specialist rehabilitation service for conditions of the wrist and hand. |
Consultant Psychologist
Dr Eileen Bradbury PhD, C.Psychol.
Cosmetic and aesthetic procedures are usually performed for psychological benefits, effects on self-esteem and social well-being. If you have any concerns about whether the procedure will be helpful to you, whether this is the right time to be contemplating surgery, or indeed if there are alternative approaches such as a combination of surgery and therapy, then a consultation with Dr Bradbury can help you to make appropriate choices. Dr Bradbury may on occasion be asked to see patients referred by Miss Lees as part of the decision-making process prior to surgery.
Dr Bradbury has many years of experience in this field and is an acknowledged expert in this area of decision making. She has been elected an Associate Member of British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (BAPRAS) and represents the British Psychological Society on the Cosmetic Surgery Inter-Speciality Committee CSIC), developing psychology training for cosmetic practitioners in the context of regulation and accreditation. In addition to her experience within the NHS, Dr Bradbury has an established private practice in South Manchester (The Alexandra Hospital) and London (Harley Street).
Nursing Staff

Senior Staff Nurse Alison Bonfield (RGN)
Senior Staff Nurse Alison Bonfield has been qualified in plastic surgery nursing since 1994. She successfully completed the ENB 264 certificate at East Grinstead whilst serving in the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps. She has been working as our practice nurse for 3 years where her duties include chaperoning patients, attending to postoperative dressings including stitch removal and providing information and advice on wound care and cosmetic techniques. Alison has worked at the Alexandra Hospital for 6 years, both on the surgical wards and in the outpatient clinics. She plays an active role as part of the “on-call” team, giving postoperative advice to plastic surgery patients post-discharge, and teaches junior nurses in the management of this specialty. |

Sister Barbara Derbyshire
Sister Barbara Derbyshire frequently acts as first assistant to Miss Lees in the operating theatre. She has 21 years experience first as Staff Nurse and subsequently as Sister in the Burns and Plastic Theatre prior to her present role. Barbara qualified as Specialist Surgical Nurse Practitioner in 2001 and now carries out minor operations for the Plastic Surgery Directorate at Wythenshawe Hospital. |
